DENZEL WASHINGTON ENTERS SHONDALAND TO DIRECT GREY'S ANATOMY SEASON 12 EPISODE 9 "THE SOUND OF SILENCE"
Recently I was browsing my Netflix for something to watch when I saw "Training Day" listed as a recently added title. I started to wonder what Denzel Washington has been up to lately since his film "The Equalizer" hit theaters 2014. As I normally do in these instances when wondering what's new with entertainers in the industry I jumped online and GOOGLED IT! To my surprise one of the articles I pulled up was referencing Denzel being the director of the up and coming mid-season premiere of Grey's Anatomy which then brought me back full circle that TGIT is about to be in full swing once again.
Here's the article I read on EONLINE: "How Denzel Washington's Wife Helped Him Direct Meredith's Terrifying Grey's Anatomy Attack"
I follow all of Shonda's shows and have reviewed them all on my TV and Popcorn YouTube channel at one point and time. Although I haven't been a fan of the direction of the shows at all times, I do respect the creativity and work that goes into creating and sustaining a show. My interest has definitely been peeked since finding out that Denzel did indeed direct Meredith's heartbreaking attack in Grey's up and coming episode "The Sound of Silence". I'm a huge fan of Denzel's work and especially impressed with Season 12 of Grey's because I was wondering how Shonda and Grey's would fair out after killing off Derek Shepherd in Season 11; I must say Shonda, the writers and actors have done a great job moving it along since Season 11 in my opinion.
I remember when I stopped watching Grey's Anatomy some years ago because I thought it was boring and only about a bunch of doctors sleeping together all the time. This was back when Derek was still married or his ex-wife was coming around however that was playing out and Derek and Meredith was beginning to have a thing. I then began to watch Grey's again around 2012/2013 or so and liked the fact that the show began to seem more about the work and patients of the doctors and not just their relationships.
Coming up in Season 12 Episode 9 we can expect to see another side of a patient like we've never seen before and Meredith is the doctor that gets caught up in the cross fire of the patient's medical condition. I'm so surprised that so many spoilers have been leaked out about this episode. I think we can take it as there is going to be a major twist before the episode ends. Check out the promo for the mid-season premiere of Grey's Anatomy below and also hear what the cast had to say about this week's episode airing today 02/11/2016. -Monica/TVandPopcorn
LAST MAN ON EARTH Season 2 Episode 3 'Dead Man Walking': Phil pulls a gun on the group because he thought it would be the only way they would listen to his apology. How did it come down to this? Let's rewind; Phil and Carol are back together and traveling the world JUST THE TWO OF US-WILL SMITH style since Phil (also known as Tandy) was shunned from the group. The group shunned Phil due to his lying and manipulation of people and events surrounding the group, their decision making and relationships. In the beginning Phil thought he was truly the last man on earth and the only survivor of a deadly, global virus outbreak but then Phil met Carol of whom he married and divorced season one only to remarry her here in season two after she was willing to follow him once he was outcast. Now Phil and Carol have found the group again and they are both trying to figure out how they will reintroduce Phil back to the group after it ended so badly. Earlier in this episode Carol lies to the group and tells them that Phil is dead and died saving her. She lied because she thought it would make them feel sorry for him and regret they ever shunned him from the group. After the attempt to reintroduce Phil doesn't go according to plan she decides to come clean about her lie and Phil; she was convincing the group to give Phil another chance by convincing them that he had truly changed but as they were just feeling all warm and fuzzy inside about Phil coming back to the group he ran in on them with a gun only in an attempt to try to make them listen to him and his apology because he doesn't believe they will listen to him otherwise.
PHIL & CAROL: I actually do really like Phil and Carol together. Now that they are back with the group I don't know if Phil will really be able to control himself when it comes to breaking up relationships and sticking his nose where it doesn't belong. Do I believe that Phil is really sorry for what he's done in the past? Yes! Do I feel like the group is taking it too far as far as their actions towards Phil? Yes! Maybe this season the writers will bring another trouble-maker into the group giving Phil and Carol a break.
THE OTHERS: I was shocked by the lack of warm welcoming for Carol as she was one who made everyone else feel welcome upon their arrival to Tucson. Carol hadn't done anything to cause anyone to dislike her but since she's been gone and ended her brief relationship with Phil Miler #2 (Boris Kodjoe), Erica (Cleopatra Coleman) is now in a relationship with him. From the moment Carol arrived Erica was one really giving Carol the cold shoulder along with Gail (Mary Steenburgen) because Carol literally scared Gail's boyfriend and fellow survivor (played briefly by Will Ferrell) to death. Carol took the lack of warm welcoming with stride because she really wanted another chance for Phil with the group. As this episode came to an end we see them once again restraining Phil and secluding him from the group because he pulled the gun out on them. I don't know if Phil will survive in a group where there is another Phil who wants to be with his Carol. I'm team Phil Miller #1! I love a good underdog story and maybe, just maybe Phil will step it up this season and show them all how cool and mature he can be but that wouldn't be as funny now would it? -Monica/TVandPopcorn
TVandPopcorn: Rob Lowe is FOX'S 'THE GRINDER': I personally haven't watched much with Rob Lowe in it since 'THE WEST WING' and I recently binge watched some of my favorite West Wing episodes on Netflix. I love that show and loved Rob Lowe's character. Back to The Grinder, I thought it was funny and that all the characters fit into their roles very well.
THE STORY PLOT:
Dean Sanderson (Rob Lowe) is an accomplished and popular actor who just wrapped up his final season of his popular show 'THE GRINDER' of which he plays a hot shot lawyer. Dean goes to visit his family as his show comes to an end and lets them know that he's looking to find his place in life and not soon after he feels maybe his show wasn't just a show after all, maybe he has a real future in law. Dean's brother Stewart Sanderson (Fred Savage) who is an actual lawyer, at first, isn't too happy about Dean's new lease on life and he plots a way to keep him moving on, just staying for a visit instead of possibly staying in town to start practicing law. Steward feels like Dean is delusional to think he can cross over from simply acting like a lawyer to actually being one. By the end of the Pilot the two brothers make up after getting on each other’s case about the way they live and what they do. Dean knocks Stewart for being too uptight about his job. He tries to do everything by the book which makes it hard for him to get creative and go above and beyond with his cases. Dean brings Stewart a much needed balance as Dean is all about creativity and flare. -Monica/TVandPopcorn
I have to give huge kudos to Shonda Rhimes for being able to wrap up three shows with very different plots and on very different paths for their winter finales which all aired on the same day. 'Gray's Anatomy', 'Scandal' and 'How To Get Away With Murder' all had their share of drama and shocking conclusions.
GREY'S ANATOMY: Now in its 11th season Grey's Anatomy is still going strong and shockingly with NEW DRAMA across the board. They have work drama and of course what's Grey's Anatomy without its share of relationship drama? As Grey's winter finale drew near we see characters having to make decisions about their relationships and careers. Here is a breakdown of the shockers of the Grey's Anatomy winter finale:
Dr. Stephanie Edwards did a sonogram on Dr. April Kepner who is the wife of Dr. Jackson Avery. In doing so Stephanie finds out that the baby is having a problem with development including bone structure and it appears that the baby, although alive, hasn't moved from his position in a while. While doing the sonogram Stephanie also revealed to April the babies sex, which is A BOY! By the end of the episode the consulting Doctors all agree that there is nothing that can be done and if not sooner, shortly after birth the baby will only have hours to live. Jackson walks out of the elevator over hearing the discussion about a baby, his baby but he doesn't know until they refer to the babies sitting position inside the womb. The scene ends with Jackson asking Edwards what he was hearing.
Meredeth and Derek might be calling it quits after they challenged each other on a case where the patient needed two types of surgeries for two different issues, both needing to be done as soon as possible. Dr. Meredeth Grey was the consult for her half sister Dr. Maggie Pierce who felt that her surgery was most important and needed to be done first while Dr. Derek Shepherd consulted with Dr. Richard Weber who both felt his surgery should be first. In the mist of all of that Meredeth begin to question if she was just challenging Derek because she resents him for his decision to not take the job offered to him by the President of The United States. Derek was trying his hardest to let her know that he really was concerned about his patient and that this wasn't about their relationship or him challenging her. By the end of the episode Derek was walking away from Meredeth after accepting the Job offer from the President by phone in front of Meredeth. Meredeth told him to go in a way as if she never wanted to see him again and he walked away without looking back. Meredeth and Maggie ended up doing their surgery first.
SCANDAL: There is so much going on with Scandal, I don't know where to begin lol. I guess I'll start with none other than OLIVIA POPE who now knows that her mother has been kept alive and in a hole by Poppa Pope aka Rowan aka Command. So now not only does Olivia have to worry about her father she also has to worry about her mother who is a terrorist and an assassin.
RECAP: Olivia and President Fitzgerald Grant haven't been kicking it like usual especially after last season when she ran off to a secluded island and told absolutely no one where she was going. To make matters worse she wasn't on that secluded island along but took Jake Ballard with her. Every since she made her way back to the States, Fitz is feeling some kind of way. Olivia told him there was hope that she would be with him only if he takes care of Jake after they arrested him for the murder of Fitz's son, which he didn't commit but is being framed by Olivia's father.
NOW: Olivia has been told by her father that she will miss him when he's gone. This is after she attempted to shot him but didn't know that the gun wasn't loaded. What's Scandal without all the relationship drama right? Here is a break down:
Mellie finds out that the VP is also sleeping with Lizzie Bear. Mellie and the VP started a little fling last season that was quickly shut down by Fitz and Olivia due to Fitz's re-election campaigning and run.
Olivia tells Jake that she wants Vermont with Fitz and to stand in the Sun with him but she refuses to choose so she tells him that she chooses herself. She states all of this before Jake comes out of the room from grabbing pillows and a blanket to find that Olivia is MIA. This was the ending scene. It appears as if she's been kidnapped.
Fitz and the VP are exchanging words in the Oval office. Fitz is being told by the VP that he should have raised war but he didn't. He threatened what Fitz-quote on quote- loves the most, which is Olivia and at the moment Fitz was telling the VP that he better not touch her, hurt her. The gladiators also found out that the VP staged his own assassination attempt to get the war started.
Momma Pope is in jail and Poppa Pope is moving on and cleaning house. Will he come back to save Olivia if she's been kidnapped? Will Olivia go through torture? How will Momma Pope get out of jail? So many questions, I guess we'll find out after the winter break!
HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER: HTGAWM has revealed the killer of Annalise's husband, Professor Sam Keating and that left us with an even more griping twist at the end that Annalise knows.
A LITTLE HISTORY: About two episodes prior to the Winter Finale, Annalise finds out that Sam may have gotten the student-who has been found murdered-pregnant. With knowledge of this information Annalise has assumed that Sam did kill the student because he found out she was pregnant and it was an attempt to cover his relationship with the student. Since the student's body has been found they have had several suspects including Rebecca Sutter. Rebecca for now seems to be innocent and she's one of the reasons why Sam ended up being murdered out of what seems to be self defense.
WHAT HAPPENED: Rebecca who was initially accused of the murder of the dead college student has become the love interest of Annalise's student Wes Gibbins. Wes will push the limits and will do what it takes to prove Rebecca's innocence and keep her out of Jail. Wes at one point blackmailed Annalise in order to get her to bring Rebecca back home from out of hiding. Wes warned Rebecca to lay low telling her that he will take care of everything but instead Rebecca along with ex cop Nate Lahey decided to take matters into their own hands. Nate has recruited Rebecca to go into Annalise's home and retrieve information off of his computer; Rebecca agrees. Sam is at home alone when Annalise's student Michaela Pratt comes knocking on the door. The only reason why she's there is because she wants to discuss the prize trophy with Annalise. Sam makes Michaela aware that Annalise isn't home. At this point Rebecca comes creeping in to walk up stairs and get information off Sam computer. Sam catches her she runs up starts, Michaela freaks out and calls Wes for Rebecca. Wes is on his way to Annalise's house with two other students, Connor Walsh and Laurel Castillo. Wes and the other student arrive to find Rebecca locked in the bathroom; she has Sam's computer and she's saving information onto her hard drive. Wes calms Sam down because at this point he's beating on the door trying to get her to come out. Once Rebecca had all the information saved she walks out the bathroom only for Sam to jump her on her way out. The other students are hysterical and Wes is trying to defend Rebecca. The fight moves into the hallway and Michaela pushes Sam off the star balcony while defending Rebecca. They all rush down stars assuming he's dead only for him to start choking Rebecca as they were discussing what to do in their current situation. Wes then clocks Sam upside the head with the prize trophy that each student works so hard to get in their possession.
THE TWIST: While the other students are waiting on Wes to return from helping Rebecca, Wes returns back to the scene of the crime. The other students are gathered in the woods to discuss their next moves. Wes goes back to get the murder weapon, the trophy. As he's there he picks up the trophy and looks over Sam's dead body and says "I'm sorry" only for the scene to later flash to a voice saying "Don't Be." That voice is the voice of Annalise herself; she's sitting at her desk in the dark looking down at Sam's dead body. She knows throughout this episode she's been covering her tracks preparing for a full on Murder cover up!
The winter finale ended with Annalise calling the cops and reporting Sam as missing or ON THE RUN because she confronted him about the murder of the student he was having an affair with. She is going to make the cops aware that she knows he slept with the students and that she believes he got her pregnant. Annalise and Wes are in this thing together but something tells me that their partnership is going to be full of drama and that when it comes to his loyalty to Rebecca and Annalise, Rebecca will always win until she's proven guilty of something! -TVandPopcorn
In THE WALKING DEAD Season 5 Episode 1 Premiere we see Carol pull out a useful LIVING walking among the Dead trick with her zombie camouflage. If all else fails and you have to walk among a herd of zombies all you'll need to do is take one down pull out their guts and begin to zombie yourself by rubbing as much on as you can stand. Since this is so effective, that means all the zombies smell is fresh blood aka the living, and rotten corpses aka themselves.
THE WALKING DEAD Season 1: In Season 1 Episode 3 of THE WALKING DEAD we see Rick and Glen first attempt to blend in with the Zombies by wearing the guts of a Zombie walker. Rick was trapped in the city with Glen, Andrea, T-Dog, Merle, Marales and Jacqui. Glen helped guide Rick to safety after Rick was trapped in an Army tank due to a herd of walkers being all around. Rick become the reason Glen and the rest of the gang were also trapped in the city. Before Rick, Glen and the group successfully traveled back and forth into the city for supplies to take back to their camp where Rick's wife, unbeknownst to him, was there along with his son. Glen and Rick covered themselves with Zombie blood and guts to move through the herd of Zombies to get to vehicles that would help get them back into the country and to the camp. The plan worked until it started to rain, and of course then, all they could do was RUN LIKE MAD!
THE WALKING DEAD Season 3: Michonne in THE WALKING DEAD season 3 episode 3 was seen walking with two zombies on a chain with their arms cut off and their tongues cut out. This method helped Michonne walk amongst the dead without being spotted because she walked in between her two zombie pets, which covered her scent. As long as she kept the noise down and walked at a zombie pace, not drawing attention to herself, she could walk amongst the zombies for long periods of time allowing her to travel through and get the things that she needed to survive; this is method she later taught Andrea after she rescued Andrea from a herd pending the farm take down.
ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE?: On THE WALKING DEAD it's not necessarily just about the physically strong surviving but those who are mentally FIT, SMART, with a WILL to LIVE. When it comes down to it, making a zombie camouflage is among one of the smarter things to do for anyone of any shape and size! -TVandPopcorn
Check out this cool Tutorial found on YOUTUBE on how to Zombie Yourself minus an actual zombie to help you out lol. This is great for Halloween and other cool occasions where zombies might be on the guest list ;-)
Jake Ballard's relationship with Olivia Pope has its clear boundaries and that's very clear since Olive and Jake made their way back from their island getaway. On the island Jake and Olivia was alone-no Fitz-no Gladiators, just expensive wine, tropical fruit and as Jake states it "lots of good Sex". From the opening scene of Scandal Season 4 Episode 1 it was clear that Jake and Olivia were not hands off on their island getaway, something else that Jake has made his priority to remind Liv of.
TWO GUYS, ONE GAL: Although it may seem Olivia is getting exactly what she wants and then some, in my opinion, she's missing out on a solid relationship with no guessing and no feeling of being THE OTHER WOMAN. Oh shoot! Do I sound ANTI-FITZ? It's because at this moment I can think of one thousand plus reasons why Olivia should seek a relationship with any single, decent man, than stay bound up in her emotions with Fitz. To be honest it's not really a matter of whether she ends up with Jake or not; I'm just hoping she begins to see the bigger picture. The longer President Fitz stays with his wife-something he's suppose to do anyways-the more he's bound by the things that happens to them in their marriage. They have already lost a son. Is it now or will it ever be a good time to leave Mellie for Olivia Pope? I'm close to placing a bet that if their relationship does end it will be Mellie calling it quits on Fitz, finally saying she's ready to move on with her life without him and his drama. The one thing I've noticed about Fitz, although he's president, he has yet to man up and really make decisions without some form of manipulation. Fitz comes across, in my opinion, as a chameleon, changing and adapting to the circumstances but never really creating and playing the cards to shift and control his situation. Yes he's had some good moments. NO, I won't totally bash Fitz but he's too distracted and too led by circumstances to make decisions. When he was angry at Olivia for her part in rigging the election we see Fitz at what seemed to be his best. His anger prompted his decisions and he made moves, but he was angry. The way he treated Liv at the time was cold and more OFF than ON. Jake came into the picture because Fitz hired him to watch over Olivia while he threw his tantrum. In the mean time Jake caught feeling for Olivia and their intimate relationship began.
JAKE: Honestly I really can't say for a fact Olivia belongs with Jake but I can say for a fact the odds of her moving on with her life being with Jake is greater than with Fitz. Jake is single, loyal-crazy-but loyal; he understands her; he doesn't judge her but loves her where she is in life at the moment. What I've respected about Jake thus far is his ability to not allow a woman that he cares for deeply, hold control over him. He sets boundaries and although he may come off as cold and harsh, someone as head strong as Olivia, if not told the hard truth can get out of control thinking she has control and that never works out for Olivia. I don't think many realize that Jake giving Olivia boundaries in their relationship is his way of telling her he'll give her time to work through her issues and if it's really Fitz she loves and she feels she's better off with, she won't have such a hard decision because he's already out of the equation, making it easier for her. This is not only Jake's way to keep from feeling the blow of the inevitable but to protect Liv from herself. She has the tendency to get too attached and feel confused in the end. If Fitz hurt her again, her emotions make the decisions for her instead of her truly digging deep to understand what she wants. Jake knows this and he understood that about her from the moment he met her.
NO DEMON, NO SAINT: Although Jake has had his share of lies, scandal and murder there isn't anyone on Scandal who has not. Olivia still wants to have dinner and coffee with her Dad who is COMMAND. Her father aka POPPA POPE aka COMMAND was at one point the boss of Jake and Fitz, among others. Liv can't, at this point, be harsh towards anyone's past with the ties to her father. No outsider, a part from that life will truly understand Liv. If she ever tried to settle down with someone NORMAL, with no secrets, to their knowledge, she'll always be covering her tracks and her family’s true identity. Jake right now is a good fit for her. He sets boundaries, he keeps it real, he seems to want to do right by her and himself; he's strong and protective, he understands her situation and HE'S SINGLE!
OLIVIA: Often times we say what we'd do if we are in that person's shoes. Often times it all boils down to our personalities, personal expectations, experiences, upbringing and current situation. Olivia seems to like a challenge. After all her job is to come to the aid of powerful people and solve some of the toughest cases. I could be wrong, but I'm not certain if Olivia would enjoy a relationship with no challenges. A part from the challenge of hooking up with Fitz in The Oval Office and sneaking around to avoid getting caught, does Olivia know much about Fitz's personality in a calmer lifestyle and setting? Jake on the other hand seems to always have a challenge for her and she's already experienced him by herself without the drama when they were secluded on a island; she didn't seem bored or ready to leave. The thrill of being the other woman could cause the emotional adrenaline Olivia feels for Fitz, confused as Love. Time will only tell if this is the case and how their relationship will play out. IN THE MEAN TIME: I guess we, JAKE and or FITZ fans, will have to sit through this intimate triangle Olivia has shaping around her. I'm not saying either of the two are going to end up in Olivia's HAPPILY EVER AFTER but I sure hope she comes to her senses and realizes the difference in relationships with high stake thrills, verses real love when you can truly know and understand someone without the thrills. -TVandPopcorn

Norman Reedus plays the loved and very popular character Daryl Dixon on AMC'S "The Walking Dead". Daryl started his debut on THE WALKING DEAD with a bow and arrow and a bad boy attitude. Although Daryl can come off as a rebel and not anyone you'd want to mess with-which is all true-but he's also loving, kind and loyal which makes him someone you'd definitely want on your side if you're ever stuck in a world full of zombies.
In an interview by Dalton Ross posted on Entertainment Weekly, Norman discussed THE WALKING DEAD, Daryl's relationship with Carol, winning awards, what it has been like shooting season 5 and more. Norman definitely has my attention and I'm ready for The Walking Dead season 5 episode 1. Here is what he had to say about the up and coming episode airing Sunday, October 12, 2014. "Episode 1 is insane. They are all insane. Episode 1, though, I’m really curious about because I just can’t see how a lot of that is gonna make it to television. But Andy and I were talking about that and we’re like, “This is crazy. This is never gonna make it to TV,” and we looked at each other and he’s like, “Dude, we say that every year,” and they always make it to TV. I’m very curious about that episode because it’s so large and it’s so good. They’re all good, but that one in particular…that was the 4 of July, that one."
Norman also discussed the pace of The Walking Dead stating that some episodes, although they aren't as action packed, The Walking Dead over all, never slows down; he gave an awesome motorcycle analogy in comparison. READ the full interview with Norman Reedus here: http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/10/09/walking-dead-norman-reedus-daryl-carol-season-5/ and get ready for what sounds like another awesome, heart racing season of ducking and dodging zombies and, men and women with guns, knives and bad attitudes trying to survive! -@TVandPopcorn
First of all let me say to the "Dexter" fans "Sorry about my lateness!" I'm just getting hip to Dexter and it's an awesome show for thriller fans.
Dexter is not a show suitable for children at all! If they aren't 18 years or older they shouldn't lay eyes on this show.
Who is Dexter? Dexter is a serial killer that kills serials killers. Sounds interesting already doesn't it? I know! For the longest time I've passed by Dexter as I browsed through my Netflix categories looking for my next movie or show. Recently I decided to check out Dexter because I was in the mood for a good thriller and some cop action. I was hooked from the very first episode and as of this blog post I'm on season 4. I'd say seasons 1-3 were pretty gripping and if you don't have time to watch more than one episode you might not want to hit play until you can watch at least three because you're going to want to know what happens next. Dexter is a serial killer that kills by a code. That code is-don't kill the innocent and always have evidence and no doubt that you have the right person. He was taught this code, among other things, by his father who knew about Dexter's longing to kill. His father taught him how to cover his tracks and also how to blend in. Dexter, over all, can come off loving and kind but says he has no feelings but he is grounded by the people who love him the most and slowly but surely he is learning how to feel. He's a Blood Splatter Analyst for the Police Department which makes for some interesting cases along with Dexter trying not to get caught because of his own blood splatter-ish deeds. -TVandPopcorn Check out DEXTER today on NETFLIX! -TVandPopcorn
Grey's Anatomy started off with a bang, literally, with an emergency gurney falling off the roof of the hospital into an SUV with two teenagers getting it on without mommy and daddy's knowledge, OF COURSE. Before a windy storm blew the gurney off the roof we see Meredith standing at the door of her home that she sold to Karev, recalling memories of her childhood. Just when I thought Grey's couldn't get any better, for a show that's in its 11th season, the writers have gracefully written in a new storyline that is sure to have Grey's fans tuning in. Meredith has a half-sister of whom she knows nothing about. Maggie Pierce who is the new head of cardiology at Grey Sloan Memorial ran into her sister Meredith in the season 11 premiere but Meredith doesn't know she's her half sister, something that Maggie is aware of. Not only is Maggie, Meredith’s half sister but she also appears to be the daughter of Dr. Richard Webber. Meredith and Maggie didn't hit it off to well as they clashed about whose job was more important dealing with a trauma patient. It's hard to tell exactly when Maggie will reveal herself to Meredith but maybe Meredith will welcome having a half sister since she lost Lexie to the plane crash back in season nine.
Dr. Derek Shephard has decided that he'd like to stay around for his wife and children a decision that Meredith didn't seem to like as the episode of Grey's came to an end. I think Meredith feels it's a decision Derek will grow to regret eventually although she questioned if their marriage would survive if he made the move to DC without her. Derek was making the move to DC after receiving a phone call and job offer from the President himself in season.
NEW PERSON ALERT: The scene was so cute between Meredith and Karev when she came over to his house and kicked Karev's current girlfriend Jo out of bed so that she could speak with Karev about her relationship with Derek and the moves they are making. Later, as the episode went on, Karev invites Meredith for a drink as he joked with her about showing up at his home and waking him up all hours of the night. Meredith then acknowledged that she and Karev have to be there for each other since Christina is gone and that they have to be each other’s person. I thought this was awesome and it fit in so perfect instead of them going on the hunt to establish Meredith’s next BFF. Grey's Anatomy still has the goods that make us all want to tune in, in my opinion! Make sure you add Grey's to your Thursday FALL lineup. If you've missed the premiere of Grey's Anatomy season 11 drop by and watch the full episodes here on HULU PLUS! -TVandPopcorn
"HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER" Pilot aired on 09/25/2014 starring Viola Davis who had the following to say about taking on this role; “I have gotten so many wonderful film roles,” she acknowledged. “I’ve gotten so many where I haven’t been the show — I’ve been invited to fabulous parties to hold up the wall. I wanted to be the show — to have a character that took me out of my comfort zone, and that happened to be on a Shonda-Rhimes" show. So I did the only sensible thing and took it.”
Viola plays Criminal Defense Professor (Annalise Keating) in this mystery thriller. After watching the season 10 premiere of Grey's Anatomy", also created by Shonda Rhimes, I have no doubt in Shonda's ability to spin a story and shake things up a bit. With that being said "HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER" holds the potential to produce some jaw dropping story lines.
THE PILOT: In the first episode we see Annalise Keating walking into a class room looking for four students to come work for her firm. In order to choose these students they are tested on how quick on their feet they can be with her current case. Based on the title of the show itself you must understand that this show is not about innocence which is why Annalise never asks if her clients are guilty or innocent. Basically, if you really did do the crime she's the lawyer you'd want to hire because she doesn't consult morals and not even what can be proven but it's clear to win her cases she uses persuasion and misdirection making sure you question the guilt of her client Guilty or NOT! "STEP ONE: discredit the witness. STEP TWO: Introduce a new suspect. STEP THREE: Bury the evidence." Annalise writes on her chalkboard in her classroom full of hopefuls looking to land a spot working for her.
MURDER: The beginning of the Pilot shows Annalise's students in the woods discussing a murder that just took place. We see the evidence being wiped down and placed back in plain sight. The murder victim is Annalise's husband who seemed to have his share of secrets and maybe even murder. As the show came to a close we see the students burning the body in an appearance of a bonfire but not before we see that another body, female, has been found on campus grounds. Annalise won her case in court so that's one case solved but as we travel through season 1 of this outside of the box show there are already two murders on the table along with other cases that may arise. Now the question is, did the students kill Sam Keating, Annalise's husband and fellow professor or are they covering up for someone else? My first thought about GOTHAM was "OH SNAP, THIS IS AWESOME!" I'm such a huge Batman fan and I think this show is absolutely BRILLIANT. After checking out the Pilot that aired 09/21/2014 I could tell that they are going to take their time and tell you the story in between Bruce Wayne's parents being killed and him becoming batman.
Another cool thing they added in the Pilot was many of the villains when they were younger. At first I didn't understand why they referenced to Penguin, Ivy and the Riddler so early on but then as I traveled back and reflected on it then it hit me how much they had grown to hate BATMAN and how all of their paths crossed long before they became villains. Even Cat Woman is following Bruce around and at the time he's just a kid.
THE BEGINNING: Of course anyone who follows BATMAN knows what happened to his parents but just in case you missed any of the details I'll give you run down; as they were walking down an alley on their way home after a family outing at the movies/theater they were robbed. In the process the robber shot and killed Bruce Wayne's parents but left Bruce alive. This brought Bruce to the place in his life where he wanted to get over his fears because of what he'd witnessed and experienced. He'd lost both parents leaving him to be raised by their butler and friend Alfred. In the Pilot of Gotham they depicted these events perfectly. Also I felt that the cast of Actors and Actresses did an amazing job telling the story. I didn't want the show to end and kept thinking, "OH MAN this needs to become the next BATMAN film." Over all I feel GOTHAM is on the right track and on track to becoming one of my favorite and must watch TV shows of the season. If you like a little thrill, a little action, a lot of fighting and good guys verses bad guys and in this case bad girls GOTHAM is definitely a show you wouldn't want to miss! Scandal started its season 4 premiere off with Olivia Pope on an island with Jake with whom she jetted off with at the end of season 3. They seemed to have made themselves at home on the island that Olivia referenced to as not being on the map. Because she trained her Gladiators so well Quinn was able to find her with some serious process of elimination and trapping Olivia with one of the things we see her drinking the most-WINE! Not just any kind of wine but expensive, rare, real good wine.
INTERESTING (Scandal Discussion Moment): What I found interesting about Olivia's return was the fact that she left the island after learning that Harrison was found dead. As I recall season 3, Olivia left without a thought of what would happen to anyone else. Of course she didn't know that Harrison went to her father nor did she know Harrison had dirt on her Father that would cause him to come up missing but that fact is at the end of season 3 I don't think Olivia was giving anything or anyone much thought. The only thing on her mind was getting away and that was even after she saw that the President's son died. With that being said, I would have liked to see Olivia being pressured to come back for an even greater, juicier reason than to plan Harrison's funeral. Other than speaking with her Father, Olivia didn't really dig deep into what happened to Harrison which could have added to her reason to leave her seclusion. I'm not saying that she won't find out but I feel her just leaving the island to plan a funeral was not the WOW comeback for season 4 I was expecting, especially not in the manner that she left in.

After Quinn found Olivia by mailing her a newspaper clipping of Harrison being found murdered, she jumped on her plane and headed back to Washington. The question everyone had was "IS SHE BACK and IS SHE BACK FOR GOOD?" Although the Gladiators, Huck, Abby and Quinn seemed to have moved on, as soon as Olivia stepped foot back into society there was a problem for Olivia Pope to solve. Abby is now the Press Secretary for the White House and seems to love her job and not liking the fact that Olivia is back. It is my assumption that Abby might be a little closer to Olivia's White House issues and relationships moving forward. Fitz and Mellie are having their usual distance and problems. Mellie is handling the death of her son as best she can but she's very emotional, disturbed and hurt. Fitz's is internalizing his pain which could case for an emotional breakdown later on.
QUESTION (Scandal Discussion Moment):The question at hand is- where is Shonda Rhimes taking the story of Scandal Season 4? The premiere really didn't take us in any one set direction. All we knew once the show was over was that Olivia was back. She could be taking it back to its original plot of Olivia and the gladiators solving case after case as they did in season 1. After season 1 Scandal moved in the direction of the hidden secrets amongst the President, his staff, Olivia and winning the Presidential election. From following Scandal on social media many of the fans made it known that they would like Scandal to go back to its original season 1 vibe. That could very well be the direction it's going in.

Fitz told Mellie that he was not going to see Olivia but by the end of the episode they did cross paths and had an I MISS YOU MOMENT without words being spoken. Jake earlier on told Olivia that she'd be going back to Fitz and Cyrus conveyed the same thing to Fitz about Olivia. Olivia Pope is back and right now Quinn and Huck have come back home. Abby didn't step back into Pope and Associates but could serve as an asset staying right where she is. Overall the premiere of season 4 in my opinion was NOT BAD but I felt it could have been more. This doesn't take away from the awesome writing for the show so far and I'll definitely be following it throughout the season. What did you think of SCANDAL'S SEASON 4 PREMIERE? I'd love to hear your thoughts, please leave your comments. -TVandPopcorn
